I bought several of these reusable grocery bags at ALDI last year. I have used them for just about everything! They are great because they are much larger than the bags from other stores, they are super durable, they can hold a ton of items, they can hold a lot of weight, and they cost less than $2!
In the photo above you can see we used them for beach bags on our vacation last summer. They worked great because they held everything and it didn’t matter if they got yucky in the sand because they were so inexpensive. We actually used them to pack for vacation. I know it looked like hillbilly luggage but it was so convenient. We had one bag for beach stuff, one for food, one for each person, etc. It kept everything nice and organized.
I also use them when I am cleaning my house. I will carry one into different rooms to put all the kids toys in that I find throughout the house. Then I can take the bag downstairs to their toy area and put them all away at once.
We celebrate Christmas with three sets of parents in their homes. I keep a bag for each home we are going to. After wrapping a gift, I will place it in the bag whose home it goes to. Then, when it’s time to leave on Christmas Eve or Day, I can grab the correct bag and everything is there and easy to carry. They also work great to put the gifts you received in to bring them home.
Have you ever found an electronic cord in a drawer somewhere and wondered what on earth it went to? Well, I label all my electronic cords with my label maker. It’s also helpful when you are looking at your tv and see all the cords plugged into it. If they are labeled, you know what each cord is and what it goes to. You can see in the above photo the white tag on the end of the cord.
I found this solution on www.meckmom.com and I think it’s a great idea. I keep my plastic grocery bags when I get home from the store. We use them for bathroom trash bags, dirty diaper bags, lunch bags for work, etc. I used to put the bags in the bottom of a cabinet and no matter how hard I tried to keep them organized, they always ended up all over the cabinet. Now, I keep all my bags in an empty crystal light container. It holds about 10 bags. I have a few of these containers in my cabinet and I can grab them when needed-on the way out the door, for the diaper bag, for the car etc. It keeps them all nice and organized and, if you drink crystal light, it’s a free container!
We used to have all our dvds in a big box. We would have to dig through it to find what we wanted and it also took up a lot of space. I purchased some of these cd cases and put all our dvds, music cds, and computer program cds in them. I threw away all the cases to get rid of the clutter and condensed a large box full of dvds and cds into a nice organized case.
